St. Anthony's tongue over my many years of following has become more than just a podcast. He now produces a zine, posts weekly mass prep, and unlike the rest of catholic media, is unafraid to speak truth in a culture that breeds conformation. In modernity, reprints of saint's journals are redacted to make them clean, but he shows their authenticity and reawakens the same bridal spirit of seeking the Church needs. On that note, if anyone knows where an authentically old copy of St Hildegard of Bingen's "Causes and Cures" or "The First Life of Saint Brigid", I am deeply interested.
Like "us" at the mantle, it is a one man show, and single source. Over the many years, the disdain for cultural Catholicism I had has been slowly been reframed by him, sharing the intents of the mystics instead of the brimstone and control i associated with the Catholic Church. Even with Pints or another popular media source, I as an individual can't stand by everything they release, and i certainly cant support any conglomerate feeding this AI monster. I stand behind this man fully, and I am just as shocked as people from my past that I circled to stand with the entire Catholic body as a result, even though I know they do not want me as I am. "forgive them father, they know not what they do."
Patience and temperance. That is the biggest change in me this podcast created. My punk rock approach to life was never the problem, It is the structures built to withstand the ego of one person. St Anthony's Tongue taught me that I am still who I am without the pride of thinking i can change the world alone. I would rather stand hand in hand with a community I want the best for, even if it means sometimes embodying John the Baptizer in a china shop, or the Magdalene's fearlessness before the divine.

Alright lets get into it, Data Over Dogma is a podcast that I watched emerge from the life work of Dr. Dan McClellan. He also has a book titled "the bible says so" if you want a straight shot route though his critical work, but this podcast gives the great option to search by topic or your mood. The co-host, also named Dan, helps the the show running light to make absorbing some of Dan 1's academic knowledge easier for a layperson. To any Practicing protestants or Catholics reading this, be advised due to both comedy and text-critical analysis, conversational nature is critical of the church. Dr McClellan in his personal life is a member of a religious community we do not support here, but I will always promote his work because he is truly unbiased. I say this because I care about your sensibilities, but to be clear i feel education to at least this level should be basic to anyone using the Bible to command people with, full stop. Understanding that Sola Scriptura is rightly a Heresy is a major fruit that his work can help a deconstructing protestant understand.

Back From the Borderline, by Molly Adler, is very beneficial cast both for understanding your own spirit and practice, as well as helping to re-guide the broken ways a lot of us connect to God. She speaks to the more "occult" side of spirituality that a Baptist wouldn't touch with a stick which is where a lot of us wind up, running away from the same Baptist with the same stick.
However for those of us that have had to re-find God away from the perceptions we were raised with, at least for me, I found non-christian western spiritual spaces to be full of cheap cultural appropriation.
My ethnic culture has been catholic for 1500 years, and in another 1500, how many cultures like mine will have to say they are culturally wiccan to feel connected to their ancestry? Why can't I hold the position that the church in history has been wrong before, AND Crowley was a scumbag? Why cant I call superstition bad, while pointing out a fear of tarot is superstition? Divination is contemplation and tuning to your source, and any word otherwise forgot they cast lots to decide the 13th apostle. Did the first pope allow occultism that early? grapple with that. Our matron holds to the middle path of not falling to your own ego, while also not living fully in it. Molly Adler speaks to the Magdalene spirit, not the grandmother in Mass every week.

In the podcast, Jon, an Anglican autistic computer engineer and autism researcher from Canada, tries to explain the data on the intersections between autism and Christianity from over 600 interviews with Christian, ex-Christian, and Christian curious autistics and from reading and analyzing the social media posts of over 26,000 other autistics on the internet. I stronly believe the work he has done here can work wonders to show spiritual communities of all kinds how to stop running autistics out to Azazel by the droves. Great both for neurotypicals to understand, and neurotypicals to cope.

The Wisdom of the Masters, by Samaneri Jayasāra, is a great audio library of meditative texts, including the Gospel of John and the Gospel of Thomas. In a world where dusty books are lost to short form content, this can be a great tool to intake knowledge.

Heaven Bent is a podcast by Tara Jean Stevens, who grew up Pentecostal. This is a great tool for both studying the social manipulation present across American protestant spaces. No matter what camp you claim, she is doing God's work making sure the rats in the chapel are seen. Link is for Spotify, but her work can be found elsewhere.
